Sinful Colors: Sinful Shine with Gel Tech

I stopped by Walgreen's this past Sunday , thanks to Influsenter, and checked out Sinful Colors Sinful Shine with Gel Tech. While I normally past up on SinfulColors, their Sinful Shine promises "5X more glossy than a patent leather shoe" and colors that compare to higher end nail polish brands. It was definitely love at first sight for me and I had such a hard time choosing a color out of 24 polish collection. I decided to get Alfresco and Set The Mood.

At this point, I've swatch 'Alfresco'. Its lovely cool blue color with a hint of sparkle. It dried to the touch pretty fast but it takes 15-20 to harden. Application and consistency was awesome. The formula is thick but not too thick and you get a opaque nail with 2 coats.  While it is pretty glossy, I wouldn't consider it 5x more glossy than a patent leather shoe. Then again...I have read that in order to get the shine, you have to slightly cure it under a light source and this will be my next step tonight.

For $2.99 each, I think Sinful Shine is a great buy with lovely fashionable colors. Pick up one today!

Wonderful Review of Julep's Mystery Spring Box 2013

Box first open...and with one piece of candy missing :-)
I received my Julep Spring Mystery Box today and I'm pretty satisfied. I paid only $25 for the box and I received $86 in products (assuming the nail file was $1 and hair ties are $5). Pretty good! At this time, Camille (clear with silver glitter) and Ashley (Metallic orange), cannot be found on the site. **warning** I was sick and I have a bad habit of biting my nails (I know bad Kam). Next time, the nails will be better.

First we have Lauren (classic with a twist). A pretty pink color that is truly girly and classic. Great opaque coverage in 3 coats. I found Lauren  easy to apply. I cannot wait to wear this with my neon yellow cutout wedges.

With  flash on left and without flash on right. Index finger 3 coats, middle finger
2 coats and  ring finger 1 coat.

Next Ashley, a metallic orange, great coverage in 2 coats. I'm not a big fan of metallic color polishes but Ashley is cute and was also easy to apply.

Left with flash, right without flash. index 3 coats, middle 2 coats  and  ring 1 coat.
As you can see, only 2 coats are needed.

Now Camille, which I like already since its a variation of my name, is a clear with silver glitter. Looks nice over creamy polishes (such a Lauren) versus metallic.

And lastly, I am excited that I received Julep's Daylight Defense SPF 30 for face and hands. It is so important to have SPF protection for nails services that involve UV lights. And even more important to protect our beautiful faces to look fresh and young for years to come. Valued at $28, the texture was light and it absorbed into my skin nicely. A pea size is needed for hands and less than a dime size for face.
I also received a nail file (which is always needed), polish remover pads and three hair ties (neon green, orange and pink). I give this box an A for usefulness and pretty polishes.
